Season 1

The central plot of the season involves the hunt for twelve ancient talismans, each representing an animal of the Chinese zodiac and possessing a unique magical power. These include powers such as super strength (Ox), invisibility (Snake), and fire-breathing (Dragon).

Season 2

The main arc of the season focuses on the eight Demon Sorcerers who once ruled the Earth and were banished to a netherworld by the Eight Immortals. After Shendu's physical form is destroyed in the Season 1 finale, his spirit is trapped with his vengeful siblings, who force him to find a way to free them.

Season 3

The season begins with the Dark Hand syndicate attempting to steal the talismans from Section 13's vault. At the same time, Daolon Wong also arrives with his own set of dark chi warriors. To prevent either villain from obtaining the artifacts, Jackie uses a laser to destroy the talismans. However, this action does not eliminate the powers; instead, it causes the twelve unique abilities to scatter across the globe and inhabit twelve "noble animals" of the Chinese zodiac.

Season 4

The second season takes place directly after the events of the first season and picks up with Sung Jin-woo embracing his newfound powers as the Shadow Monarch. While he keeps his new powers a secret from people around him, a strange hunter who has been lost for nearly ten years returns with a dire warning of an upcoming catastrophe.

Season 5

The season begins with Shendu still trapped in his stone statue form at Section 13's vault. His son, Drago, escapes his own containment using a magical artifact and begins a quest to gather five powerful demon chi talismans, which were created from the remnant powers of the other eight banished Demon Sorcerers.
