Episode Summary

Following Aggregor’s successful absorption of the Andromeda refugees, the legendary Galvan scientist Azmuth teleports Ben, Gwen, and Kevin to his laboratory on Galvan Mark II. Azmuth explains that Aggregor seeks the four hidden pieces of the Map of Infinity to enter the Forge of Creation and siphon the god-like powers of a newborn Celestialsapien (Alien X’s race). Azmuth tasks the trio with blocking Aggregor from securing even a single piece, as a single missing shard renders the remaining map useless.

Their mission takes them to the planet Mykdl'dy, a brutal world that is half-frozen and half-molten, where the first map piece is hidden inside a temple. The temple rests in the twilight zone of the planet, inhabited by primitive, religious Necrofriggians (Big Chill’s species). Ben tries to negotiate peacefully by transforming into Big Chill to earn their trust, but an accidental mention of the hidden artifact offends the tribe, triggering an aggressive swarm attack.

The team fights their way into the temple, where they are forced to navigate a gauntlet of ancient, lethal traps left behind by Professor Paradox, including a spiked pendulum, an acid lake, and a ferocious two-headed dragon. To push through the temple defenses, Ben pushes the Ultimatrix into uncharted territory, debuting Ultimate Echo Echo to destroy the beast. However, at the final door, Gwen is incapacitated by a hidden poison dart. As Ben and Kevin are pinned down holding a massive stone entrance open, Aggregor steps out of the shadows, smugly steals the map piece, and leaves the heroes stranded inside the collapsing sanctuary.
