Ben, Gwen, and Kevin arrive in Walton to find a town prospering immensely under the leadership of Mayor Coleman. They discover that the local Popcorn Festival isn't just for humans; alien college students visit to gorge themselves on Earth's popcorn. In exchange, the aliens leave behind metabolic waste that consists entirely of solid, 24-karat gold. However, a student named Decka has gone missing, prompting his friend Orb to seek the Plumbers' aid.

The team quickly finds that Mayor Coleman has secretly kidnapped Decka, forcing him to overeat in order to produce more gold to pay off personal debts. To make things worse, when Decka refuses to eat more popcorn, the greedy mayor feeds him meat. This violates a strict biological rule for their species, triggering a chemical mutation that transforms Decka into a colossal, mindless, ravenous monster that threatens to consume the entire region's power supply.

As the rampaging monster heads for the local power plant to absorb raw electricity, Ben steps in. The Omnitrix triggers transformations into Big Chill and Echo Echo. Realizing that Echo Echo's sonic form is structurally composed of silicon—a severe poison to Decka's species—Ben uses his sonic duplicates to trick the monster into consuming them. The tactical ingestion induces severe nausea, forcing Decka to safely purge the toxic energy and return to his normal form.
