The episode opens with the team investigating mysterious tremors in a desert excavation site. They quickly realize that someone is deliberately trying to breach Earth's mantle. Soon after descending into the caverns, they are attacked by a massive, fire-breathing Megalith worm. While defending themselves, they run into a bizarre, rogue Pyronite-obsessed Plumber named Mizaru.

As they dive deeper, they discover that the mastermind behind the tremors is none other than Vulkanus. Seeking profit and revenge, Vulkanus is using a massive thermal drill to drop a bomb directly into the Earth's core. His goal is to terraform the planet into a molten wasteland, mimicking his home planet so he can mine valuable minerals easily.

The situation becomes critical because the glitching Omnitrix refuses to give Ben the aliens he actually wants. When trying to counter the heat and the magma worms, the watch transforms him into Jetray and Big Chill at inconvenient moments. Ultimately, Ben has to outsmart Vulkanus’s machinery rather than rely entirely on raw alien power, pushing his improvisation skills to the absolute limit to save the day.
