Episode Summary

With only hours left before the Conqueror's Challenge duel, Ben and Gwen must track down the loose alien lifeforms—Chromastone, Goop, Spidermonkey, and Brainstorm—that escaped into the city during the watch explosion. Kevin, deeply depressed over his grotesque new multi-material form, initially refuses to help but eventually joins the hunt out of loyalty.

The team manages to recapture the runaway aliens and pull them back into the Omnitrix just in time. When the deadline hits, Ben arrives at the designated battlefield to face Vilgax one-on-one, with the entire population of Earth watching via a live television broadcast. Ben starts the fight by transforming into Humungousaur, but Vilgax’s amplified powers quickly overwhelm him.

In a shocking twist, Vilgax shatters Chromastone into pieces, seemingly killing the alien form. However, the Omnitrix triggers a fail-safe resurrection sequence, reconstituting the broken crystal fragments to unlock a powerful classic alien: Diamondhead.
