Episode Summary

Ben is riding high on his recent fame, slacking off on his training much to the frustration of Gwen and Kevin. The celebration ends abruptly when Vilgax lands on Earth, showcasing new, god-like powers he absorbed from the greatest heroes of ten different planets. Vilgax legally issues the galactic Conqueror's Challenge, forcing Earth to offer up its single best warrior to fight him or face complete annihilation.

Knowing he isn't powerful enough to face this upgraded version of Vilgax, Ben plans to step in blindly anyway. Desperate to help, Kevin and Gwen try to find a way to unlock the Master Control of the Omnitrix. Despite a stern warning from Azmuth via hologram, Ben and Kevin attempt to hack the device using Kevin's lab equipment.

The tampering backfires disastrously. The Omnitrix overloads, causing a massive energy feedback explosion. Instead of unlocking Master Control, the blast forces four of Ben's core alien transformations to completely escape from the watch. Worse yet, the raw genetic energy mutates Kevin once again, trapping him in a horrific, disjointed multi-metallic monster form, leaving the team fractured just as Vilgax's countdown begins.
